Thailand discovered a total of 5,854 daily Covid-19 infections with 30 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, November 28th.
The fatalities were 16 men and 14 women with the most numbers recorded in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Pattani, Song Khla, and Chanthaburi with 3 each. 29 of them were Thai nationals and one was a Myanmar national. The age range was between 9 months and 95 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (11), diabetes (10), hyperlipidemia (5), obesity (3), and kidney disease (4). One of the fatalities was a bedridden patient.
Of the new cases, 5,130 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 260 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 457 were from prisons, and the remaining 7 were imported cases.
A number of 79,250 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,395 patients are in critical condition including 330 on ventilators. This is roughly 1.76 percent of cases that are critical while 23.6 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 664, followed by Songkhla with 337, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 355, Surat Thani with 277, Chiang Mai with 226, and Chonburi with 205.
A total number of 467,240 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 196,879 people had received their first shots, 226,412 people had received their second shots, and 43,949 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 66.4% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 56.9% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 4.6% have had a third booster shot.
